Because Jews were persecuted for centuries zionists think they could feel safe only in a Jewish homeland, Israel. Israel creation brought many crimes against an innocent second party: the Palestinians.
The second argument is that the old testament prophecies the creation of a promised land called Israel, where jews should finally all come back after a long exile.
The reasonable people suggest that you shouldn't treat others with cruelty because they'll hate you even more for it, thus making your own position less secure.
Moreover, it is not exaggerated to say that some Zionists are convinced that every individuals in the world hate the jews for no other reason than that, which is very far from reality.

We should not build policy on old testament prophecy, partly because the separation of state and church is a good thing and second, because the ancient testament is not a very good guide for foreign policy.
David Ben-Gurion told once to Nahum Goldmann, the president of the World Jewish Congress:
If I were an Arab leader I would never make terms with Israel. That is natural: we have taken their country … We come from Israel, but two thousand years ago, and what is that to them? There has been anti-semitism, the Nazis, Hitler, Auschwitz, but was that their fault? They only see one thing: we have come here and stolen their country. Why should they accept that?
2. The start: the colonisation

2. The start: the colonisation

Zionists were far from benevolent towards the Palestinian arabs, who resisted their encroachments – which is hardly surprising, given that the Zionists were trying to create their own state on Arab land.
The creation of Israel in 1947-48 involved an ethnic cleansing, including executions, massacres and rapes by Jews,
and Israel’s subsequent conduct has often been brutal, belying any claim to moral superiority. The Palestinian resort to terrorism is wrong but it isn’t surprising. The Palestinians believe they have no other way to force Israeli concessions. As Ehud Barak once admitted, had he been born a Palestinian, he ‘would have joined a terrorist organisation’.

The zionists stealed and steal other peoples properties and stuffs and claim it as their own and every time palestinians resist to the Israel invasion, Israel pretends being under attack
You can”t defend yoursef when you are a military occupying someone else land (occupied territory) against a popuation you are crushing. That’s not defense. This context is always hided in the medias.
3. Israel is created: Israel’s policy

Unlike the US, where people are supposed to enjoy equal rights irrespective of race, religion or ethnicity, Israel was explicitly founded as a Jewish state and citizenship is based on the principle of blood kinship. Given this, it is not surprising that its 1.3 million Arabs are treated as second-class citizens Its democratic status is also undermined by its refusal to grant the Palestinians a viable state of their own or full political rights, an impose them an apartheid regime
.Israeli expansion in the Occupied Territories, occurs with a lot of war crimes and outrageous violation of human rights perpetrated against arabs.
Since 1982, the US has vetoed 32 Security Council resolutions critical of Israel, more than the total number of vetoes cast by all the other Security Council members.

Zionism is a political ideology for the creation of a land for the jews only: Israel
The resolution 3379 of the UN general assembly condemn zionism as "a form of racism and ethnic discrimination"
Zionism ideology and behaviour has manifested a complete defiance to all international laws, rules and principles, and the open racism manifested in the Jewish State is a violation of all ethics and morals known to Man.

A lot of jews reject zionism, and believe it is a racist ideology, that Israel behave with the palestinians like the nazi did with the jews (1). It is also a source of antisemitsm through the world. But these jews are constantly oppressed by the Zionists (2)

4. The american role
Israel managed to do this with the fourth army in the world thanks to America.
One might assume that the bond between the two countries was based on share

ategic interests or compelling moral imperatives, but neither explanation can account for the remarkable level of material and diplomatic support that the US provides. This is due to the AIPAC, the Israeli lobby in the US. No lobby has managed to divert USA as far from what its national interest would suggest, while simultaneously convincing Americans that US interests and are essentially identical.

Washington has provided Israel with a level of support dwarfing that given to any other state. It has been the largest annual recipient of direct economic and military assistance, since World War Two, to the tune of $
140 billions. Israel receives about $6 billion in direct assistance each year, roughly one-fifth of the foreign aid budget, and worth about $1000 a year for every Israeli. This largesse is especially striking since Israel is now a wealthy industrial state with a per capita income roughly equal to that of South Korea or Spain.
This aid does not include free military gifts and indirect economic aid.

This situation undercuts Washington’s efforts to promote democracy abroad and makes it look hypocritical when it presses other states to respect human rights.

US efforts to limit nuclear proliferation appear equally hypocritical given its willingness to accept Israel’s nuclear arsenal, which only encourages Iran and others to seek a similar capability.
What is needed is a candid discussion of the Lobby’s influence and a more open debate about US interests in this vital region. Open debate will expose the limits of the strategic and moral case for one-sided US support and could move the US to a position more consistent with its own national interest.

Amercia should stop its special relationship and treat israel like any other country, which means. once israel behaviours goes against american interest, america should distance itself, which is not the case in the actual situation..
Regarding to the isral/palestine conflict america should intervent as a honest broker, washington should pursue a policy towards the two sides. USA should make it clear to israel to abandon the occupied territories, and allow for the cretion of a viable palestinian state on those lands. USA should not tolerate and oppose the colonial expansion of israel.
5. The arabs point of view
5. The arabs point of view
Someone has to know that there is an incredibly high amount of support for the american values in the arab world, it is not what I would call overwhelming, not 99% not 80%, but if you take a look at it, there is a great admiration for the american economy, a great admiration for the system of governement, They would actually prefer to have a system of governement that looks a lot more like the US than the one that they have got. There is even a great admiration for the israeli system of governement among the palestinan population. There is great support for the american culture, which is quite addictive as we all know.
But then if you start asking question about how do you feel about american policy towards the middle east in general, towards the israli/palestinan conflict, towards terrorism etc .. then the number goes sharply overwhelmingly negative 3% support 97% opposition. This is why most of the animosity towards the USA in the arab and islamic world is a reaction to american policy. You may think they are right or wrong, it is the origin of that animosity. I am sure there are some extremists, but they are a very very very small, number, so let’s keep these people as marginalised and discredited as possible, and the way to do that is to change the american policy.
6. Terrorism

After 9/11, US support has been justified by the claim that both states are threatened by terrorist groups originating in the Arab and Muslim world. But the US has a terrorism problem in good part because it is so closely allied with Israel, not the other way around. It is largely a response to Israel’s prolonged campaign to colonise the West Bank and Gaza Strip.
In the letter Ussam Bin Laden wrote fot the 9/11 attack, as for the first question: Why are we fighting and opposing you? The answer is very simple
(1) Because you attacked us and continue to attack us.
a) You attacked us in Palestine:
(i) Palestine, which has sunk under military occupation for more than 80 years. The British handed over Palestine, with your help and your support, to the Jews, who have occupied it for more than 50 years; years overflowing with oppression, tyranny, crimes, killing, expulsion, destruction and devastation. The creation and continuation of Israel is one of the greatest crimes, and you are the leaders of its criminals. And of course there is no need to explain and prove the degree of American support for Israel
http://www.guardian.co.uk/world/2002/nov/24/theobserver
Support for Israel is not the only source of anti-American terrorism, but it is an important one, and it makes winning the war on terror more difficult. There is no question that many al-Qaida leaders, including Osama bin Laden, are motivated by Israel’s presence in Jerusalem and the plight of the Palestinians. Unconditional support for Israel makes it easier for extremists to rally popular support and to attract recruits.
